MORE AFFORDABLE LUXURY

Billed as the most affordable all-electric luxury vehicle on the local market, Volvo Car South Africa has officially opened bookings for its highly anticipated XC40 P6 Recharge, starting from R1,075,000.

The XC40 P6 Recharge offers a range of up to 423 km (WLTP) on a single charge thanks to its 69 kWh battery and, fitted with an 11 kW onboard charger as standard, additionally boasts competitive charging capabilities.

With a permanently sealed and maintenance-free electric motor mounted on the front axle, the front-wheel drive XC40 P6 Recharge produces maximum power of 170 kW and 330 Nm of torque, which ensures a respectable zero to 100 km/h sprint time of 7.4 seconds and towing capacity of 1,500 kg.

The XC40 P6 Recharge is generously specced, with only a panoramic sunroof and heated seats/steering wheel as optional, and everything else included as standard. The standard features include wireless smartphone charging, parking sensors (front and rear), a reverse camera, and the company’s latest Android-powered touchscreen infotainment system, complete with built-in Google apps and services. Customers can also upgrade the wheels to 20″ from the original 19″ ones.

Volvo’s signature suite of safety features, as well as the Pilot Assist driver support system, are also included in the purchase price, along with the Volvo CARE package, which comprises a five-year maintenance plan and warranty, three years of comprehensive insurance, use of a petrol car for two weeks per year for three years, a public charge cable, and a wall box home charger.
