Established to celebrate the splendour of the brand, and to provide surety of ownership for Ferrari owners, the Ferrari Approved Programme is a pre-owned certification programme that guarantees maximum security in, and peace of mind to owners purchasing a Ferrari that had been registered within the last 14 years.
To maintain the integrity of the brand, each Ferrari Approved car is monitored and maintained in perfect condition. The programme comprises a series of wide-ranging checks and several guarantees, including Technical Inspection; Origin and Preparation; Warranty and Assistance; and Roadside Assistance.
THE TECHNICAL INSPECTION
For a Ferrari to be declared Ferrari Approved, it needs to pass a series of extremely rigorous technical checks and controls that were developed at the Ferrari factory, and which may only be performed under the auspices of a Ferrari Approved technician.
The inspection comprises of no less than 190 checks, including:
– Inspection of exterior bodywork
– Interior quality, wear and tear checks
– Running gear functioning tests
– Electrical system functioning tests
– Checks of liquid levels, temperatures, and pressures
– Examination of the condition of the suspension, brakes, cooling system, and steering system
– Secondary inspection of instrumentation, air-conditioning, and safety systems
– Lights, wheels and tyre (tread depth and pressure) function tests.
All checks are completed in a Ferrari Approved workshop and then followed by a test drive by the technician performing the inspection.
ORIGIN AND PREPARATION
An Approved Ferrari is prepared and presented to the highest standards both inside and out – standards set out by Ferrari.
Skilled experts using only the finest quality materials restore the exterior paintwork and interior trim to a condition appropriate to the vehicle’s age and mileage, while the car also receives a full and thorough valet.
The ownership history of each Ferrari Approved model is transparent. Every item of information is verified to check originality, mileage, and change of ownership.
Ferrari also confirms the performance of all scheduled maintenance activities that are recommended by Ferrari.
At the end of each inspection, a detailed list of the checks and repairs that were carried out to allow the car to be inducted into the Ferrari Approved Programme, is placed in the glove compartment.
WARRANTY AND ASSISTANCE
A Ferrari Approved car enjoys the Ferrari warranty for 12 months after purchase, which covers the cost of parts and labour, should significant repairs be required during that period.
Each Ferrari Approved car also carries an unlimited mileage warranty, except for parts that are subject to routine maintenance – including tyres, brake pads and brake discs – or normal wear and tear.

Ryan Hazell – Master Technician
Ryan is a Maranello-trained Ferrari technician who has completed multiple modules of Ferrari specific training both overseas and locally. Over the last four years, he has acquired the skills and knowledge at Scuderia South Africa to be honoured with the title of ‘Ferrari Master Technician.
Patrick Bothma – Technician
Trained as a Ferrari technician in Maranello and South Africa, Patrick has also completed several modules of training to equip him with the necessary skills to be a Ferrari Trained Technician. A position he has filled at Scuderia South Africa since 2015.
