Driving the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class isn’t exclusively reserved for those select few willing to add a few zeros on an EFT payment to their nearest Merc dealership.
The bakkie that wears the three-pointed star will feature in Ubisoft’s next open-world motoring-adventure instalment ‘The Crew 2’ that will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
Few video game publishers can pull off open-world gaming quite as seamlessly as Ubisoft, and its latest title not only promises on-road exploration but also an adventure-filled experience that will take gamers navigating through dense forests and climbing over rocky tracks.
The Mercedes-Benz X-Class also forms a fundamental part of an in-game ‘Rally Raid’ mission that requires players to race against the clock in a virtual off-road environment that, if successful, will see them receive the compact truck as a reward. Thereafter, it can also be used for exploring every nook and cranny the game has to offer.
‘The Crew 2’ will be released on all gaming platforms on 29 June 2018 and also offers gamers extensive vehicle customisation options. For the X-Class specifically, players can opt to personalise it somewhat by fitting imposing wheels, a front-mounted winch and a loading area cover. In true Merc fashion, though, the X-Class can also receive a bespoke treatment that allows further colour and wheel customisation options.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the game will also feature other models carrying the star. These models include the 1955 Merc 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé, the C 63 AMG Black, the AMG GT and even the GLC Coupé.
